At 5 feet 9 inches, Cara Delevingne is around two inches shorter than the typical catwalk model. But height has far from held back the fashion industry's newest sweetheart, who has become something of a runway essential this season. Having made her name as Burberry’s campaign muse, the British beauty strutted her stuff in eight of the biggest shows at London Fashion Week, including Mary Katrantzou, Sass & Bide, Burberry and Giles Deacon.
And Milan was no different, with the sister of fellow model and socialite Poppy taking to the catwalk for DSquared2 and Roberto Cavalli. But Cara isn't only known for her modelling. The 20-year-old made waves when speculation surfaced that she was dating One Direction's international heart-throb Harry Styles. The pair were first linked last month when it was reported they had enjoyed a couple of dates together. And the rumours of their romance were fuelled when Harry turned up to watch Cara walk at the Burberry show. After waiting backstage for the leggy blonde to appear, he planted a kiss on her cheek to congratulate her on her performance. "Cara was great," he said. "She did a great job, she looked amazing. It was a great show."
Although the catwalk star was spotted a while back – she was best friends with the daughter of Storm Model Management's CEO Sarah Doukas – her big break came at the age of 18 with her first Burberry campaign. And sister Poppy, who recently became the face of the Louis Vuitton collection, has been a great source of support for Cara. "Poppy has always been so supportive to me," she told a publication. "It was strange in the beginning with both of us working in the same industry, but she has always helped me and is always there for me with advice."
Despite the closeness of the siblings, their personal style is poles apart. While Poppy favours an elegant, ladylike high fashion look, Cara is more likely to be spotted in her standard rock’n’roll uniform comprising of vintage t-shirt, biker boots, leather jacket and skinny jeans.
