She ruled the runway at last season’s fashion week, strutting her stuff in shows across all of the world’s fashion capitals. Now, Cara Delevingne is set to conquer the ultimate catwalk – that of Victoria’s Secret. The 20-year-old has been recruited by the lingerie giant to put her girl-next-door looks and enviable physique on display in some of their skimpy designs.

And the younger sister of socialite Poppy Delevingne has expressed her excitement about bagging the prestigious modelling gig. "So excited for the #VSFashionShow!" she tweeted after the costume fitting in New York. "Had my fitting yesterday and am so happy about my outfit. Be prepared, be very prepared." Another British beauty set to grace the coveted runway for the first time is Cara’s best friend Jourdan Dunn. Jourdan, who is a single mother to two-year-old Riley, has been on the modelling circuit since 2006, and has landed a campaign for Rag & Bone and various features in Vogue.

While she is yet to confirm the news, her retweeting of congratulations on getting the job seems to say it all. The girls will feature alongside the more established Victoria’s Secret Angels Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio. Alessandra, who is in incredible shape despite recently giving birth to her second child, was selected to wear the coveted $2.5 million 'Fantasy Bra' during the show which is watched worldwide. The Brazilian beauty was bestowed the honour after 11 years as an angel and she follows in the footsteps of Karolina Kurkova, Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, Adriana Lima and most recently Miranda Kerr.

But it isn’t only the all-star cast who will have tongues wagging on Thursday. Heart-throb Justin Bieber, megastar Rihanna and Bruno Mars are set to give performances during the event. Although he's hardly an average 18-year-old, Justin must still be thrilled he’s scheduled to perform with the gorgeous supermodels.

The show will take place in New York on November 7, but will air on CBS on December 4.Last year's event was watched by over 11.5 million viewers when it was screened on US TV. There were performances by Nicki Minaj, Maroon 5 and Jay-Z and Kanye West.
