Beckham boys Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz show off inherited style gene

December 18, 2012

With a top fashion designer mum and a model dad who regularly tops best-dressed lists, it's safe to say that the Beckham boys have some of the most fashionable parents in the world. So it's no surprise that celebrity couple David and Victoria's sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz have jumped onto the style wagon, often proving they have inherited their dad's suave look with their fashionable attire. And in an extra special style coup for the Beckham boys, middle son Romeo, 10, has just been announced as the new face of British fashion house Burberry. His modelling gig comes after Victoria revealed that her AW12 collection was inspired by the young boy.

"The baseball thing was literally me standing in the kitchen, Romeo runs in in his baseball outfit and I was like, "Okay, that's cool,"' the designer said of the range's sporty vibe. Dad David, meanwhile, deemed Romeo 'the fashion one' in a recent interview. "We use to try to dress them up," he said. "But now they want to wear their own things. Brooklyn will just wear his soccer shirts and T-shirts, but Romeo is the fashion one, so he'll go for skinny jeans and a vintage T-shirt and funny hats. "One Christmas he asked for a pair of Spats shoes." But the HELLO! Online fashion team thinks all of the Beckham boys dress very well. Take Brooklyn's recent outing to a football game in LA. The 13-year-old looked super stylish in a black, alien-motif t-shirt, skinny jeans and wide-rimmed glasses. With short sides and more length on top, he seemed to be channelling his dad's famous hairstyle.

Both Brooklyn and Romeo are big fans of plaid shirts and baseball caps for their casual wear, often sporting them to basketball and football games. Cruz, meanwhile, at seven years old, may be slightly too young to be interested in fashion. But he looks oh-so-cute in his little beanie hats and red skinny jeans. Day wear aside, the trio certainly know how to spruce up when occasion calls. The boys stepped out at the Viva Forever musical launch in London to support their mum Victoria, looking dapper in bespoke Burberry suits. Romeo looked particularly suave, pairing his suit with a black overcoat, the brand's signature checked lining just visible. Now the Burberry campaign shots he stars in have been revealed, it is clear that this was an allusion to his relationship with the brand.

Creative director of the brand Christopher Bailey described working with the ten-year-old as a "joy". He appearing in one image smiling, holding an umbrella and balancing on one leg in the classic trench coat. Other models to appear in the campaign include Charlotte Wiggins, Alex Dunstan, Charlie France and Max Rendell – but according to Christopher Bailey, it was Romeo that "really stole the show". The campaign was shot by renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino, who has a long history with Burberry and is known for his work with Kate Moss and as the man behind the engagement pictures of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
