Romeo, Georgia and Daisy: The A-list offspring in the modelling spotlight

December 18, 2012

Celebrities tend to be genetically blessed in the looks department. So it's no surprise that many A-list offspring end up with lucrative modelling careers. Most recently, Romeo Beckham, the son of uber-fashionable celebrity couple David and Victoria, was announced as the face of Burberry, appearing in a campaign shot by Mario Testino sporting the fashion house's signature trench coat.

The ten-year-old looked at ease in front of the camera as he showed off his playful side by posing with an umbrella. But he's certainly not the first child of a celebrity to bag a modelling gig for world-renowned brands. Hollywood star Andie MacDowell's youngest daughter with former model Paul Qualley, Margaret, made her catwalk debut at the Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti show in Milan earlier this year. And Victoria's Secret supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio introduced her gorgeous four-year-old daughter Anja into the world of modelling with a campaign for fashion brand London Fog. The Brazilian beauty revealed that her little girl took to modelling instantly: "Having my daughter steal the spotlight is pretty funny and I just love it." With her Kate Moss-esque gap-toothed smile and her disheveled blonde locks, Georgia May Jagger, who is the daughter of Jerry Hall and Rolling Stones star Sir Mick Jagger, has taken the modelling world by storm, bagging a contract with Lancome, Hudson Jeans and Rimmel London, as well as appearing as a face for Chanel.

It's no surprise, meanwhile, that the daughter of supermodel Yasmin le Bon, Amber, has followed in her mother's footsteps. Lending her stunning face to brands including Moschino, Forever 21 and Myla, the 23-year-old has made waves in the industry. Another supermodel with a photogenic child is Cindy Crawford, whose daughter Kaia Gerber made her debut for 'Young' Versace, a label closely associated with her mum. But it's not all down to a modelling gene. Pearl Lowe, a singer, bred quite the model daughter. Daisy has posed for magazines including Tatler and Vogue, while also dipping her toe into more daring gigs with nude shots for iD magazine, Playboy and the Pirelli calendar. She was also the face of racy lingerie brand Agent Provocateur. And Pixie Geldof, who is the daughter of Paula Yates and Bob Geldof, has lent her famous face and grungy, eclectic style to campaigns for Pringle, Calvin Klein and Diesel.
