Fashion journalist Louise Roe has TV credits that include The Clothes Show, Fashion Police, judging spots on Britain's Next Top Model, not to mention a full-time presenting role on MTV's Plain Jane. So it's fair to say she knows more than a thing or two about the fashion world. HELLO! Online have enlisted the British-born, LA-based fashionista to tell us what to look out for on the red carpet at this Sunday's Golden Globes…"The Globes is always a fun red carpet. Because it's not as formal as the Oscars, people tend to take more of a fashion risk, which means a mixed bag of results. It's also the first awards show of the year, so movie stars and TV actresses are looking to pack a punch and hit the headlines with their outfits.
The catwalks are a good indicator of trends we'll see, and this Spring the shapes were daring: Origami-inspired silhouettes at Prada, oversized ruffles at Gucci and Givenchy, and mega low-cut tuxedos revealing lacy bras underneath at Victoria Beckham. Sheer silks were also everywhere, showing more than just an outline of what's underneath — stars will be going sexy this year! Names to watch out for? Jennifer Lawrence, who always smoulders on the carpet. She's now the face of Miss Dior, so the chances are she'll be wearing that designer. Ditto Marion Cotillard.
Anne Hathaway has really vamped up her image in the last few weeks, and since Valentino made her wedding dress and she has been donning his designs to promote Les Miserables, I'd put money on her wearing one of his creations. I'll be reporting from the red carpet for Access Hollywood and I can't wait to see what Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt, Nicole Kidman will wear — no doubt something very elegant and not too revealing. Also, top of my radar are Alison Williams from Girls, who is fashion's new darling, and Zooey Deschanel, who has a brilliantly kitsch and edgy sense of style. "Follow HELLO!
