Victoria Beckham reveals how she juggles work and family life as she touches down in NYC with Harper

February 4, 2013

Shortly after fashion queen Victoria Beckham touched down in New York on Sunday for the city's fashion week, she revealed how she manages to combine her work as a designer with her busy family life. "Every mother struggles with balancing work and a family," she said today. "I focus and plan really thoroughly. "Being a working mother certainly influences my approach to business and my designs."

The mum-of-four and her little trendsetter daughter Harper cut a stylish duo as they jetted into JFK airport . She left behind her three sons Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, ten, and seven-year-old Cruz in London. The fashion designer was striking in a burgundy belted dress complete with matching suede boots and billowing leather sleeves, toting the super cute 19-month-old toddler, who was winter weather-ready in a navy, fur-trimmed winter coat, a blue-and-white checked shirt and thick navy tights that she paired with brown Mary-Janes.

The pair had jetted from London to the Big Apple, where the former Spice Girl is set to show her Autumn/Winter collection from her eponymous main line and its diffusion line Victoria by Victoria Beckham at New York Fashion Week this week. And she took to Twitter on Sunday to share her whereabouts with her five million plus fans, tweeting: "En route to NY for #NYFW!" It is the ninth collection for the 38-year-old, who is also set to launch a greatest hits collection entitled 'Icon'. Inspired by some of the most popular and enduring styles from her back catalogue, the range will feature seven dresses from her archive, with more styles being added later in the year. The capsule collection will launch later in February, in an effort to coincide with the re-launch of the mum-of-four's new ecommerce site victoriabeckham.com, where the 'Icon' creations will be sold exclusively.

Victoria recently spoke about the new line, saying: "Together with my personal edit of the spring/summer 2013 collections, I wanted to be able to offer an exclusive product on the site that was in keeping with the signature aesthetic that's very special to me. "I introduced Icon in response to requests for designs from as far back as my first collection from customers, and I wanted to find a way to offer them key dresses from the archive, but in newly-reworked colours and fabrics." The first run will see a reincarnation of creations from her spring/summer 2009 collection onwards, with prices starting from around £,1000. Revamped to perfection, expect a variation of both classic and vibrant colours combined with Victoria's signature simple cuts, neat lines and elegant silhouettes. Not to mention the much desired re-appearance of the tight bandage style bodycon, which was famously worn by A-listers Kate Winslet and mum-to-be Kim Kardashian. Despite the reissuing of VB's classic designs, when discussing the 'Icon' collection, the British-born beauty announced "I hope these updated styles will become unique, limited edition pieces."
