Lily Allen made a surprise musical comeback on Tuesday evening when she performed for the first time in four years at the Etam lingerie show during Paris Fashion Week. The singer took to the stage dressed in a vintage drop-wasted dress to sing her 2006 hit song Smile to a crowd that included her husband Sam Cooper and their two-month-old daughter, Marnie.
The new mum hit the stage with fellow artists including Rita Ora, M.I.A. and Lykke Li for the third edition of Etam's annual innerwear and swimwear extravaganza. Just 24 hours before the big event, the star, 27, tweeted: "Just did rehearsal for tomorrow's ETAM Show with @iamMarkRonson, still know the words to Smile, which is good. #mumback. "Lily announced in 2010 she was leaving the music industry, but announced in June last year that she was back in the studio working on new tracks. She is also featured on the track True Love on Pink's latest album, released in September.
Since retiring from her music career, Lily has married and had two daughters. The 27-year-old wed Sam in August 2011 during a traditional country wedding held in Gloucestershire. There was a surprise under her lacy dress by French designer Delphine Manivet – the bride was four months pregnant with her first baby, named Ethel. The singer has previously described Sam as a "normal bloke" and "the love of my life". She added: "Sam treats me differently. He's told me he'll look after me forever. That's what I've always wanted."
The Etam lingerie collection was designed by Natalia Vodianova. Ranging from intimate lingerie to everyday clothing, the simple range combined comfort with elegance.
