Nicole Richie is firmly in the fashion spotlight at the moment. During a trip to Paris Fashion Week, where she sat front row at Valentino and rubbed shoulders with fellow stylish celebrities, the diminutive star received a personal sketch designed by Jean-Paul Gaultier. Nicole showed off the drawing while posing with the designer in an image she uploaded to her Instagram account, writing: "Sketched".
After her stint in Paris, she jetted back to New York to promote her new show Fashion Star. Speaking to reporters, Nicole opened up on style. "Fashion is from head to toe," she said. "It's just not just about the dress, it's about the whole look." She revealed that her favourite item in her wardrobe is simple. "I really, really love my Helmut Lang white t-shirts," she said. Despite her love of casual clothing, the 31-year-old made sure to glam up in the City of Light. Stepping out at Valentino, she chose the fashion brand's signature hue as she showed off a scarlet tiered dress.
She wore a classic black formal coat over the frilly number to protect her from the chilly winter weather. Nicole was also spotted at Stella McCartney – to which she wore a black-and-white vertically striped dress – where she was pictured laughing alongside actress Jessica Alba, while at Givenchy – where monochrome again ruled the day, but this time in a wavy black-and-white neckline – she had the chance to catch up with fellow reality TV star Kim Kardashian. Nicole is also a fashion designer herself. After her impeccable sense of style established her as one of Hollywood's best-dressed stars, she launched two fashion lines, House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate.
Recently, she announced that Steven Spielberg's daughter Sasha – an actress and musician – will star in the campaigns for both lines after seeing her perform in the band Brother/Sister, which she founded with her brother Theo. "When I first met Sasha, I knew immediately she would be perfect for the video," Nicole said. "Something about the way she carries herself. Sasha truly embodies the Winter Kate and House of Harlow 1960 girl. Someone who is confident and fun, yet still a bit reserved and elegant."
