Kate Middleton surprised at lookalike doll

April 5, 2013

An 11-year-old girl surprised Kate Middleton on Wednesday when she presented her with a lookalike doll of herself. During a visit to Dumfries House with husband Prince William and father-in-law Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cambridge gasped as she was handed the Barbie-style doll complete with her signature brunette tumbling tresses and wearing a copy of her blue Issa engagement wrap dress. "No! Oh no, is that me?" a shocked Kate laughed. "Is that meant to be me?

She continued: "Does my hair really look like that!" The little girl, called Dayna from nearly Coylton, is a huge fan of the royal family and was bought the £15 doll by her mother for Christmas from eBay. Dayna had clearly studied the doll in detail, pointing out to Kate: "But your engagement ring is on the wrong finger and is pink not blue." After meeting the brunette beauty, the young girl said: "I told her she was much prettier than the doll and her hair was not nearly so big and she laughed and seemed happy.

She continued: "I think she was a bit shocked by the doll though. I can't believe how nice she was thought. She was just lovely. "This has been the best day ever." Kate was wearing an angora wool red Armani coat, the same one she had worn for William's passing out ceremony in 2006. She teamed the scarlet number with a Strathearn tartan scarf – a tribute to the fact that her and William are known as the Earl and Countess of Strathearn in Scotland.
