Keira Knightley is rumoured to be marrying her fiancé James Righton in the south of France this weekend, just one year after announcing their engagement. There have been reports that Keira, who is the face of Coco Mademoiselle, has had a custom-made gown fashioned for her by Karl Lagerfeld.Beautiful Keira has worn countless Chanel gowns on the red carpet — see our picture gallery below — and many of them would be suitable wedding day attire.
Naturally, Keira is keeping schtum about her wedding dress, but when asked if creative director Karl Lagerfeld was designing a gown for her, she didn't deny the rumours. "Well, that would be very generous of him," she said. "He is an incredible designer. Would I say yes? To be honest, I'm working on another film straight after Anna Karenina, which finishes after Christmas. Then, maybe I'll start thinking about the dress and the guests and the venue. It really depends on what sort of wedding I decide to have – if I go with a jeans and T-shirt option, then maybe it wouldn't be quite right. "Back in January, Keira was rumoured to be trying on gowns at their showroom in Paris. This came as no surprise – the 28-year-old is known to have a close relationship with Karl. Not only is she the face of Coco Mademoiselle fragrance, having fronted several print and video campaigns for the scent, but she is the star of his new short film Once Upon a Time and she frequently hits the red carpet clad in beautiful Chanel couture creations.
Chanel is the clear favourite for Keira's wedding dress, but we can't rule out the possibility that she may choose Valentino. The beautiful brunette often wears the Italian fashion house's breathtaking creations on the red carpet. As fashion fans speculate as to what Keira will wear on her big day, we take a look back at her most bridal-esque outfits to get an idea as to what she might choose. Keira and James have been dating since February 2011 after being introduced by pal Alexa Chung. They announced their engagement in May of last year and earlier this week, a source revealed to the Mirror that their wedding will take place this weekend. "It's all been a massively covert operation," the source said. "Her friends and family were only told recently about the ceremony. They've all been told not to travel in big groups, to arrive separately and to all spread out where they're staying so as not to draw attention to the wedding party. "Keira and James holiday together quite a bit in the south of France," the source added. "It's become a really special place for them, which is why they chose to hold the wedding there."
