Cara Delevingne is unstoppable – just months after starring in top designers Burberry and Saint Laurent ads, the model has been unveiled as the new face of Mulberry's autumn/winter campaign. Images of the print campaign have been released, showing Cara posing with a host of owls.
The photoshoot took place inside a luxury home, with esteemed fashion and art photographer Tim Walker at the helm. In one shot, Cara holds the brand's famous Bayswater bag as she perches on an indoor tree. Another sees her staring straight on into the camera while she holds an owl and the label's Del Rey bag, named after singer Lana Del Rey. In every shot she is accompanied by her feathered friends. This is the latest in a long line of modelling coups for Cara, who starred in Saint Laurent and Burberry, alongside Romeo Beckham, earlier this year.
Her campaign gigs come after being described as the 'star face' of the autumn/winter 2012-13 Fashion Week season, which saw her strut her stuff for brands including Oscar de la Renta, Dolce & Gabbana, Stella McCartney and Giles Deacon. Cara recently hit headlines after she joined best friend and popstar Rita Ora on stage at the DKNY Artworks party in London. Rita was scheduled to perform with rapper Wretch 32, but the audience were in for a pleasant surprise as the model leapt on stage and larked around while Rita sang, before hijacking the microphone and flaunting her own impressive vocals.
The ladies sent the crowds wild when they performed the impromptu double act, dancing energetically on stage and singing at the top of their voices. "This is what happens when 2 become 1! caradelevingne HA! Surprise!!! #dknyshow #mysexydancer! Came out…," tweeted Rita, alongside a picture of the duo striking a pose . Cara has made no secret of her desire to take a break from modelling and try out a career in singing. She has also expressed an interest in acting, and even briefly appeared in 2012 blockbuster Anna Karenina alongside Keira Knightley.
