Kanye West's capsule collection for A.P.C. debuted online on Monday sold out almost immediately, with the website even crashing at one point due to the sudden surge in traffic.The collection, consisting of two T-shirts, two pairs of jeans and three hooded sweatshirts, is now available for pre-order.
The founder of A.P.C. Jean Touitou opened up about working with the megastar, who has just welcomed his first child, baby daughter North, with girlfriend Kim Kardashian."When you deal with a guy who wants to redesign just about anything so it could fit [into the] kingdom of dopeness, it takes some time to just sit and say, 'Okay, agreed, but let's get started on something limited, and we'll see'," he said to Style.com. "I just love the guy, so whatever," he added. "He could want a piece to be baggy and skinny at the same time… [but] oh well, you just find a way."
Cryptically, he added, "Fashion killed rock and roll. Fashion killed contemporary art, and turned it vulgar. And if hip-hop artists are not careful it will also kill hip hop. "In another interview with W magazine, Jean said, "When we finally finished this collection, I felt like, 'Okay, if I made this happen, then I can achieve peace in the Middle East'."Meanwhile, Kim's mother Kris Jenner revealed details of Kim's birth on her talk show, The Kris Jenner Show, on Monday evening.
Wearing a fitted white top and black skirt ensemble, Kim Kardashian's mum took the opportunity to open up about the moments before Kim gave birth , and the covert operation involved in getting her daughter to the hospital.
Just minutes into the show, Kris first explained the "backstory" – that "It was actually Father's Day weekend", and Kim "had been planning a big thing for Kanye" – a present from Apple co-founders Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.
Having just filmed for Good Day LA, Kris switched on her BlackBerry in a chauffeur-driven limousine: "She emails me: 'Call me, urgent. I have to have the baby today, emergency, get here fast'."I call her up, she tells me it's a medical emergency, she's got to get to the hospital and can I get there? and I said I'm with this guy, this driver in this limousine…"The mum-of-six then "gets the driver to make a pit stop at Kim's, where there are about 300 paparazzi camped outside. I get inside, get Kim, we're packing her bags, getting them all into the trunk…" She goes on to describe calling her friend to meet them at a hotel "with a decoy car, a getaway car.""So we leave, and of course a couple of the paparazzi are following us. We go to the hotel and the whole way down to the hotel she's (Kim) under a blanket and I hear tap tap tap tap and I go 'who are you emailing? You’re under a blanket and this is an emergency! She says: 'I've got to call Steve Wozniak, he's emailing, he just got here and I don't know what to tell him.'"I'm like, could we stop with the Steve Wozniak? I said, this is gonna wait, we'll deal with that tomorrow. "The Kardashian family matriarch then describes pulling into the hotel where the mother and daughter duo had agreed to meet her friend. "She opens the door, she gets out, she moves to the back of the limo, she grabs Kim's bag she's gonna put it in her trunk. All of a sudden, I'm about to get out of the car and who do you think is standing at the hotel, Steve Wozniak!"Kim, according to her mum , was in 'emergency mode' when she got out of the car "like nothing's happened. Hi Steve how are you?…she's acting like she's at a cocktail party talking to somebody."
