Jennifer Garner was unveiled as Max Mara's first celebrity spokesperson at a swanky party in the Big Apple on Thursday evening.Wearing a black satin cocktail dress that hugged her slender physique, the woman of the moment was suitably glammed up for the occasion.
The 41-year-old had left her three children Violet, seven, Seraphina, four, and 16-month-old son Sam back in Los Angeles with their dad Ben Affleck. This modelling gig marks Jennifer's debut fashion ad campaign.Images were also released of the campaign, showing Jennifer wearing a camel coat and clutching the brand's new statement handbag, the JBag. "I like the size of the JBag," Jennifer said in a press release. "I like that it's big enough to carry anything you want to stuff in there, but it's small enough that you won't lose your keys!"
Max Mara's chairman Luigi Maramotti explained why the A-listers was the perfect fit for the brand. "Jennifer Garner is a real woman, not a cover girl, not a starlet, and she has different interests – a family and values," he said. "She is a real woman and embodies the Max Mara woman. She perfectly reflects our image. "Though this is Jennifer's first fashion campaign, the star often makes waves on the red carpet with her simple yet elegant style.
She describes her style as "pragmatic – I like to wear garments that have a real luxurious texture and feel good on the skin. "Also at the New York event to celebrate Jennifer's new venture was Mad Men's Christina Hendricks, Solange Knowles and Molly Simms.
Jennifer added a pair of Max Mara sunglasses to her outfit as she arrived at the party. She kept her brown locks straightened and her make-up was typically understated.
Jennifer recently spoke about beauty on the red carpet during an interview with Redbook. "The red carpet is really fun," she said. "It's show business, and we're putting on a show. A lot of people are involved in the styling and my voice is one of the smaller ones in the mix. "You should hear the conversations [in a dramatic voice] 'I think it's a smoky eye and a simple lip…' I make fun of everyone for being so invested. "She does, however, take her skin care seriously, and is a firm believer in protecting her skin from harmful UV rays. "Putting on SPF should be like brushing your teeth," she said.
