Selena Gomez steals the show in edgy emerald number

All eyes were on Selena Gomez as she stepped out for the Teen Choice Awards at Universal Studios on Sunday evening.The starlet showed off her slender physique in an edgy emerald dress from Cushnie et Ochs that featured double thigh-high splits.

Poker-straight hair, nude Nicholas Kirkwood pumps and turquoise Neil Lane earrings topped off the look.

Selena, who recently split with Justin Bieber, was nominated for six awards at the ceremony – Choice Female Artist, Choice Summer Music Star, Best Female, Choice Single, Female Artist, Choice Break-Up Song, Choice Smile and Choice Female Hottie.Joining Selena on the red carpet was newly single Lily Collins, who looked amazing in a Fausto Puglisi skirt and Hougthon shirt.

Her Brian Atwood shoes capped off the quirky look.

Chloe Moretz injected a dose of colour into the proceedings with her multi-coloured bandage dress and Kerry Washington flaunted her toned legs in a Stella McCartney long sleeve mini dress and Christian Louboutin heels.

Miley Cyrus skipped the red carpet but was on hand to accept three awards – Choice Style Icon, Choice Summer Song and Choice TV Scene Stealer: Female. The star had gone for biker chic, showing off her endless pins in a leather skirt featuring a line of buckles. She paired the tough number with a sheer shirt and black bra.

Also rocking an edgy look was X Factor judge Demi Lovato. She wore black leather trousers, a beaded black blazer and white t-shirt. She wore her hair in a quiff.Demi walked away with three awards, winning Choice Female Artist, Choice Single by a Female Artist and Choice TV Personality: Female.

"Thank you guys so much for the Teen Choice Awards!!!! Love you all sooooo much!!!" she later tweeted.

Sandra Bullock also chose to skip the red carpet, arriving in a dark green minidress to accept the gongs for Choice Summer Movie Star: Female for her role in film The Heat and Choice Movie Chemistry for her scenes alongside co-star Melissa McCartney in the same movie.
