Celebrations were in order after Victoria Beckham won over the Big Apple style set with her Spring/Summer 2014 collection. So the triumphant fashion designer headed out for dinner with her two biggest fans - proud husband David Beckham and daughter Harper.
The father-and-daughter team – who were joined at upmarket eaterie Balthazar by Victoria's parents Jacqueline and Tony – had cheered on the former Spice girl at Sunday's show – the first of her two shows scheduled to take place during New York Fashion Week.
It had been a resounding success, garnering praise from style critics, who commented on Victoria's change in direction. The gold slippers and structured silhouettes of a few seasons ago had made way for a collection which mixed feminine looks with masculine-inspired pieces using menswear fabrics.
But guests – including American Vogue editor Anna Wintour – found themselves distracted from the striking collection by the sight of adorable Harper sitting on her daddy's knee in the front row.
Backstage, the designer said: "I still love a fitted dress, but there is another side of me that wants to feel at ease and relaxed as well as sharp and feminine."
In an earlier Twitter post, the 39-year-old explained what she had set out to do with the new line. "I have set boyish elements against a sense of femininity that is manifested through the use of lines, waves and textured overlays," she wrote. "What became most important to me was to convey a feeling of balance across the collection."
