November 7, 2013

David Beckham is smouldering dressed head to toe in leather in a new ad campaign. The former professional footballer, who is the new face of Belstaff, is pictured posing in the countryside surrounded by motorbikes and fellow bikers. The father-of-four wears a distressed leather jacket and trousers and a faded t-shirt for the low-key shoot which was based on "a band of brothers travelling across the English countryside lead by Beckham."

The campaign was shot in rural Buckinghamshire by renowned photographer German photographer Peter Lindbergh.

When 38-year-old David attended Belstaff's Bond Street store opening in September he said he loved "being able to work with a brand that has so much history and is very British". "I began wearing a lot of Belstaff a few years back when I started riding bikes," David explained. "I actually found my first [Belstaff jacket] when I was shopping in a vintage store, funnily enough, about six or seven years ago and I still wear that when I'm riding."

"I've always loved motorbikes. But I've never really been allowed to ride them," he told Vogue at the event. "Obviously now that I've finished playing, it's enabled me to spend more time on my bikes, which is great."

The Belstaff campaign is not the fashionable football star's first foray into modelling. He has posed in his own H&M underwear shoots and has also stripped off for Emporio Armani. His affinity for modelling has been passed on to his son Romeo who appeared in Burberry ad alongside Cara Delevingne earlier this year.
