This week London has hosted the world's fashion pack and Hollywood superstars – and on Wednesday night it was the music industry’s turn as the 2014 Brits rolled into town.Making as many headlines as the winners on the night were the dresses on parade as pop princesses and stylish stars arrived for the O2 arena event.

sequins

Many chose sequins to ensure they sparkled on the night. Queen Bey, Beyonce Knowles, led the way in a blue floor-length gown that clung to her famous curves.

Lily Allen chose not one, but two sequinned dresses for the evening – having rocked the red carpet in a black and blue gown, she changed in a colourful House of Holland number to present the best British Group award.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also showcased the sequin trend and looked stunning in a red and black zebra-print mini dress that made the most of her endless legs.

pastels

Rita Ora, meanwhile, looked flawless in a plunging yellow Prada gown that featured green gemstone detailing. With her hair perfectly styled and wearing shimmering eye makeup, she embodied glamour and sophistication as she posed on the red carpet.

Kimberley Walsh opted for a nude mini dress with a delicate lace overlay that was embroidered with white flowers, while Jessie J caused a stir when she rocked up wearing a flesh-coloured jump suit with lilac lipstick.

Other stars chose a muted palette for the evening. Pretty in pastel was the night's leading lady Ellie Goulding, who hit the red carpet in a Vivienne Westwood princess dress with pockets, her hair swept to the side in a plait.

Sisters Kylie and Dannii Minogue, who arrived arm-in-arm, complemented each other in little black dresses. Kylie stepped out in a latex dress by William Wilde that featured an oversized bow, while her younger sibling also opted for an off-the-shoulder number, wearing a J'Aton Couture design that featured a scalloped hem.

Pixie Lott wowed in a simple white DKNY dress. The 23-year-old singer turned heads as she hit the red carpet in her floor-length gown, featuring a thigh-high split.
