All eyes were on Kate Middleton as she stepped out in Bleinheim, New Zealand. The Duchess of Cambridge was radiant in a cornflower blue Alexander McQueen coat dress complete with peplum and pleat detailing. Sold on Selfridges.com in cream, the couture dress costs a staggering £2,345. It is also listed on Alexander McQueen's US website in pale blue with a price tag of $3,875.
Kate's version looks to have been altered slightly from the original version, with the upper part of the peplum detailing having been removed. The stylish royal paired the simple yet stunning creation with dark navy blue heels and accessorised with her sapphire drop earrings and a small red poppy brooch.
Kate had swapped her signature cascading curls look for an elegant ponytail. She kept her make-up in line with the blue theme with a sweep of navy eyeshadow, keeping her lips natural.
The event was to remember those who had died in all wars, and to particularly commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the First World War, which falls in July of this year.
The hundreds of gathered residents of the town were delighted to see William, 31, and Kate, 32, arrive at the war memorial to attend the wreath-laying ceremony.
While the Duke and Duchess were the guests of honour at the commemoration, several veterans from the Second World War and more recent conflicts also played a starring role at the event. They were pictured taking their seats by the memorial, alongside various senior New Zealand politicians.
