But the royal opted for casual chic as she stepped out in Auckland with husband Prince William to meet with serving Air Force personnel and their families.
The dressed-down Duchess sported her go-to casual look - dark skinny jeans, a navy blazer over a striped top and sling-back wedge heels.
Kate's double-breasted blazer featuring gold buttons is from high street retailer Zara.
With a price tag of just £79.99, the jacket was still available in all sizes when Kate first stepped out.
The Breton-striped top that she wore underneath the jacket is from Me + Em, costing £48, and her cork and navy suede wedges are from Stuart Weitzman.
Kate has worn the shoes many times before for more dressed-down affairs. Most notably, she sported them to the London Olympics in 2012 to cheer on Zara Phillips in the Equestrian event.
The elegant Duchess dressed up her relaxed ensemble with a pair of £695 Grace Collection white topaz and diamond stud earrings by London jeweller Kiki McDonough, according to reports.
