Suki Waterhouse topped the majority of best dressed lists on Tuesday morning after her stunning appearance at the Met Gala. The model was picture-perfect in a powder pink Burberry gown with a full skirt made of tiered tulle. But as she ascended the stairs to the Met Museum, onlookers were shocked to see Suki's choice of footwear – black combat boots that she has owned since she was 16.
Speaking to The Cut, Suki revealed that she wore the boots "just for height". She also spoke about choosing the dress. "I wanted pink in it," she said. "I love that pale pink, so I wanted a little bit of that in it. And then I left it up to them, and then didn't really see it until three days before. "It's kind of scary actually. And then I saw it, and I remember walking in and seeing it and we were just all like, Ahhh! They did such an amazing job. It's one of those things where you don't really know what it's going to be like, and then it's f****** amazing.
"So, high-five Burberry!" Opening up on what it's like to attend the prestigious fashion event, which saw scores of A-listers show up in the most incredible designer gowns. "It was actually very relaxed," she said. "Not how you'd expect. I felt like I was at a very special occasion. Getting ready I felt like it was my wedding a tiny bit." Asked if she found the red carpet stressful, Suki said, "No, it wasn't for me because I got there so early. "I was one of the first to arrive. So it was empty. I want to do that if I ever do it again – go early."
