Uma Thurman and Ireland Baldwin led the model literati in New York last Monday when they attended Ralph Lauren's Fall 2014 Children's Fashion Show In Support Of Literacy.
Mother of three Uma joined the iconic designer’s son, David, up on stage of the New York Public Library to tell the gathered fashionistas why their cause is so important, as 55 children strutted their stuff on the catwalk modelling outfits from Ralph’s latest children’s line. Guests included David’s wife Lauren Bush, the niece of former American president George W. Bush, and Empire State of Mind singer Alicia Keys, whose son Egypt hit the catwalk as one of the models.
Meanwhile Ireland, daughter of actor Alec and his first wife Kim Basinger, joined veteran Ralph Lauren models to help the children make their catwalk debut. The 18-year-old was clearly a hit with the younger stars, posing for photos with them while clad in one of the designer’s branded polo shirts. Guests were also treated to a performance by the Tony-award winning cast of Broadway’s Matilda The Musical – the adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic penned by Australian comedic Tim Minchin.
