Ever the gracious guest, the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, championed Scottish fashion as she visited the country on Thursday. The royal wore a red-and-pink panelled coat by Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders from his Autumn/Winter 2013 collection. She paired the designer creation with her trusty nude pumps and a matching clutch.

Kate stuck to her signature hairstyle of cascading curls with a little extra volume at the crown.

The elegant brunette was joined by husband Prince William on the engagement, which marks their first official appearance since their royal tour of Australia and New Zealand. They are thought to have left their ten-month-old son George at home with his nanny. The couple’s first stop was at the Strathearn Community Campus on Thursday morning. While in the area William and Kate are known as the Earl and Countess of Strathearn, and Thursday was the first time they have graced the region since they were given the titles - as they tied the knot in April 2011.

Duchess Kate and Prince William’s duties involved meeting Brownies, Scouts and Cadets as well as carers based in the Crieff area. The Prince was especially excited to greet those from the Scottish Air Ambulance as he thought about joining the team for his career.
