Prince George may be only 11 months old, but the tiny tot has been crowned the most stylish royal. The young Prince fought off stiff competition from his mum, the Duchess of Cambridge, née Kate Middleton, and his great-grandmother, the Queen, to bag the top spot.
Prince George took the top spot with his cool, laidback style
The survey, commissioned, by junior fashion label My1stYears.com, asked more than 600 online shoppers who they thought was the best-dressed royal. Prince George, who was recently photographed taking his first steps, topped the poll with more than a fifth (23 per cent) of the vote. The third in line to the throne has already been identified as a trendsetter, with shoppers clambering to buy anything he is seen wearing. One in five voters, 21 per cent, named his mum Kate as the most stylish, pushing her into the number two spot.
The Duchess of Cambridge came in a close second, while the Queen took third spot
Famed for her elegant and timeless style, the Queen came third in the poll with 18 per cent of the vote. Princess Beatrice, meanwhile, took fourth place with 12 per cent, followed by Prince Harry with nine per cent. The Countess of Wessex just missed out on a top five sport, scoring seven per cent of the vote. In seventh and eighth places came Prince William and the Duchess of Cornwall, with four and three per cent respectively. Rounding up the list in ninth and tenth were Princess Eugene and Zara. One mum who took part in the survey said: “I absolutely adore Prince George’s style. It’s modern, yet traditional and stylish but not tacky. “It’s only natural that some of Kate’s fashion sense is going rub off on George, what do you expect when your mum is an international style icon?” Another woman added: “I think the Queen is the most fashionable royal. Her style may not be classed as modern but it has a dignified elegance to it. “After all you wouldn’t want to see Her Majesty tottering around on a pair of Jimmy Choos and sporting a Prada handbag. “What is nice about the Queen’s fashion is that she is not afraid to wear bright bold colours. Too often when women reach a certain age, they only seem to wear bland, washed out colours.” A spokesperson for My1stYears.com commented: “We were all really surprised to see that Prince George came top of the poll. “Just as we saw the ‘Kate effect’, we have witnessed in the last few months the ‘George effect’, where anything he is seen wearing sells out within hours. “In fact we have seen a distinct spike in the sale of our products which are similar to the clothes he has been photographed in.
