Stella has been reshaping fashion since launching her first collection in 2001 and has become one of the pioneers of eco-friendly fashion, refusing to compromise when it comes to sustainability and pushing boundaries.

A member of the Ethical Trading Initiative, Stella also collaborates with numerous NGOs and environmental conservation organisations including Wildlife Works and Parley for the Oceans and last year based a collection on an initiative to protect endangered rainforests.

"We challenge and push boundaries to make luxurious products in a way that is fit for the world we live in today and the future: beautiful and sustainable. No compromises." - Stella McCartney

She has been a vocal supporter of animal rights and all of her designs are cruelty-free. She prides herself in designing clothes that are kind to communities and animals while minimising impact on the environment.

In her brand's mission statement, she says: "We are agents of change. We challenge and push boundaries to make luxurious products in a way that is fit for the world we live in today and the future: beautiful and sustainable. No compromises.

"Each decision we make is a symbol of our commitment to defining what the future of fashion looks like. From never using leather or fur and pioneering new alternative materials to utilising cutting edge technologies, pushing towards circularity, protecting ancient and endangered forests and measuring our impact with ground-breaking tools."
