Elle Fanning bids farewell to summer with sizzling swimsuit selfie

She looks incredible!

Summer might be coming to an end but Elle Fanning made sure she went out with a bang and shared a stunning swimsuit selfie to bid the season farewell.

The Great actress posted a sun-drenched snapshot to her Instagram stories over the Labor Day weekend and wrote: "I guess Summer is over," along with a crying emoji.

In the image, Elle wore a chic, green one-piece and was lying back with her eyes closed and a refreshing-looking swimming pool beneath her.

Elle has been able to kick up her heels and enjoy a well-deserved break over the summer as she wrapped the second season of her hit show in July.

At the time, she posted a photo in costume alongside her co-star Nicholas Hoult and wrote: "Season 2 of The Great has officially wrapped. Wow. What a tremendous feat filming in a global pandemic. I am eternally grateful for the crew that kept us all safe and going. This season is going to be WILLLLDDDD! I love them with all my heart. Cannot wait for you to see what we have cooked up! @thegreathulu."

Elle is going to miss summer

She then revealed that fans can watch the second season on 19 November when it will begin airing on Hulu. 

The star has enjoyed huge success with her role as Catherine the Great in the hit show, and while her on-screen romance with Nicholas' character leaves little to be desired, off-screen, Elle is happily loved-up with boyfriend, Max Minghella.

Elle recently wrapped filming of season two of The Great

Elle, 23, and Max became romantically involved after meeting on the set of the 2018 film Teen Spirit, which was written and directed by Max.

The couple were first linked in July 2018 when they were seen holding hands in Florence, Italy, and made their relationship public when they walked the red carpet together at the 2019 Met Gala in New York.

No doubt, they got to spend some quality time together over the summer too.
