Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Mel B got into the spirit of this week's 80's theme on the X Factor as they channelled the decade in chic dresses. Cheryl, 31, wore an elegant green dress from Lanvin's Resort 2014 collection for the evening, which featured an oversized ruffle detail.

The Crazy Stupid Love singer accessorised her gown with some gold statement jewellery from de Grisogono and Yves Saint Laurent, opting for some sparkling earrings and chunky bracelets for a glamorous nod to the 80s' bold and quirky trends. "What a night, proud of all my girls!" the British beauty captioned a photo of her outfit on Instagram. "Thank you @karindarnell @percyhair wearing @Lanvinofficial dress @deGrisogono_official jewellery and @yvessaintlaurent_official". While the 80's are known as the decade of big hair full of volume, Cheryl chose to wear her brunette locks down in a sleek and straight style, slicking her hair back for a high fashion style.

The former Girls Aloud singer opted for dramatic black smokey eyes, with some shimmering make-up for a fresh-faced look. Make-up artist Karin Darnell, who created Cheryl's look for the night, shared a close-up photo of the singer's make-up. "@thexfactoruk @cherylofficial @karindarnell @percyhair @annahugheschamberlain 80's make up for 80's night!" she captioned the photo. "A 'symphony' of bronze, orange & green!!!" Fellow judge Mel B, 39, also upped the style stakes for the live shows, showing off her enviable figure in a floor-length pale pink dress by Stella McCartney.

The former Spice Girl paired the fitted gown with a sparkling statement ring as well as a gold necklace and bracelet, as she channelled the 80's renowned laidback glamour.

When it came to make-up, Mel B opted for a simple yet striking look. The focus was heavily on the eyes, with the mother-of-two rocking winged black eyeliner paired with black mascara on her long eyelashes for a dramatic look. The rest of her make-up was kept simple, with a slick of pale pink lipgloss to offset her dress, as well as a matching pale pink manicure.
