Nicole Richie rocked military chic on the red carpet on Thursday night as she hosted VH1 You Oughta Know: Live in Concert. The 33-year-old showed off her style credentials in a khaki military-style coat dress with oversized silver buttons as she walked the red carpet in New York.
Nicole paired the coat dress with a cream top and a statement necklace consisting of layers of chains for a tough yet feminine look, completing her ensemble with a pair of nude stilettos which featured a broad strap.

The mother-of-two tied her dark teal blue hair into a sleek and edgy top knot bun, and wore bronze makeup and nude glossy lips for a simple yet striking beauty look.
Nicole is renowned for her fearless approach to fashion, often rocking bold and glamorous dresses, however for the special event she had some fun with her outfits and rocked some quirky outfits. Taking to the stage alongside performer Treach, Nicole delighted fans as she joined in for a surprise rap performance, wearing a white vest top and jeans, and accessorising her outfit with oversized gold chains and earrings.

The former Simple Life star later changed into a more casual look as she took to the stage with singer Sam Smith, opting for a white tracksuit with 'Can't Touch This' emblazoned in gold on the back, a nod to MC Hammer's hit in the 1990's. Nicole later reverted back to her effortlessly chic style, wowing in a dark metallic dress which gave fans a glimpse of her enviable toned stomach.
