Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen once again showed off their status as the world's most stylish twins as they headed to the CFDA Fashion Awards announcement party on Monday night. The design duo looked effortlessly cool, wrapping up warm in layered ensembles for the glitzy event.

Mary-Kate chose an elegant grey marl ankle-length coat to keep out the winter chill, which she paired with an oversized cream scarf for ultimate laidback chic. Meanwhile Ashley chose an all-black ensemble consisting of a long tailored overcoat teamed with a pair of skinny jeans. When it came to accessories it seems that the stylish siblings co-ordinated their looks, wearing matching black suede heeled boots and both carrying black leather handbags. Their beauty looks were also almost identical. The 28-year-olds each wore their golden locks down in tousled waves, and kept their make-up to a bare minimum save for a touch of pale pink eyeshadow and a slick of mascara. The only noticeable difference was that Mary-Kate completed the look with a pair of dazzling earrings, while Ashley opted for no jewellery.

The pair enjoyed a night out together as they mingled with the likes of Betsey Johnson at the party, which was hosted by Diane Von Furstenberg and Nadja Swarovski at the Weather Room in New York City. The Olsen twins are no strangers to the CFDA Fashion Awards, having already taken home two of the coveted prizes for their successful fashion label The Row, once in 2012 for Womenswear Designer of the Year, and in 2014 for Accessories Designer of the Year - and this year they have been nominated in both categories once again. The twins were no doubt enjoying a night off from their hectic work schedules, as they prepare to open their flagship store for The Row on Madison Avenue, reportedly opening in May. The pair are renowned for their move from successful acting careers to the world of design, and wowed the fashion pack with their latest collection during New York Fashion Week last month.
