Vera Wang, 71, turns model as she fronts new sunglasses campaign

The photos of the 71-year-old fashion mogul will blow your mind.

We would like glass from whatever fountain of youth Vera Wang is sipping out of - and stat. It’s been months since a photo of the 71-year-old fashion designer went viral when she popped up on Instagram last May looking half her age in an orange sports bra and cutoff shorts. This time, Vera is making jaws drop in a new eyewear campaign for her eponymous brand.

While stars have served as ambassadors for the Vera Wang brand in the past, Vera is the star of her own campaign for the first time ever. And it makes total sense, not only because the style mogul keeps going viral with her age-defying social media photos, but also because of how incredible she looks in the brand’s snaps.

In one photo, Vera gives a pout as she shows off a square-rimmed pair of Ivee opticals wearing a puffer coat over a dress over a sheer scarf. In another, she tilts her head into her hand in a pair of V498 shades.

The iconic fashionista continues to serve modelesque poses and style moments, as she pairs her brand’s sunglasses and optical frames with a cheetah print coat, strapless floral dress, a ruffled dress, a leather coat with camo print sleeves, and more. Vera styled each of the looks, which were designed to portray “iconic fashion personalities from ladies who lunch to disco queens,” the brand’s team revealed in a statement.

"Eyewear is one of my favorite fashion/ beauty accessories," Vera added. "Like a new lipstick or eyeshadow, a special pair of glasses can express your own sense of style, create a new persona and most of all, protect your vision....Eyewear is fun creative easy personal practical."

The 2021 Vera Wang campaign features the latest styles from all of the collections segments including luxe, core, alternative fit and VWX. "We're so thrilled to have Vera Wang featured in our 2021 campaign," Vice President of Marketing, Marissa Cundiff said. "This is such exciting news for the collection and the imagery is beautiful. We couldn't be more excited to release what we feel is our best campaign yet." We agree.
