As Kamala Harris made history when she was sworn in as the first female vice president Wednesday, her two grand-nieces paid tribute to her at the presidential inauguration with the sweetest, stylish gesture.

The adorable duo popped up at the U.S. Capitol in matching leopard-print coats, which were an homage to Kamala, who wore a similar coat when she was a little girl.

“Special coats to look just like Auntie’s,” their mom, Meena Harris, captioned a photo of her daughters, Amara, 4, and Leela, 2, striking poses in the coats. They both paired their cozy outerwear with black face masks, black tights, and black patent leather lace-up booties.

Meena proved the point of the style connection by sharing a family photo of Kamala wearing a hooded leopard print coat as a child that looked similar to theirs. The little ones were also on hand as President Joe Biden was declared the presidential elect November 8th, and hit the stage as they celebrated the victory. “She’s been talking about this moment non-stop for WEEKS, and it finally happened,” Meena captioned a photo from the day

Speaking of style, the vice president made an inauguration style statement of her own in an elegant purple coat and dress - which is one of the principal colors of the women's suffrage movement, also worn by Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Laura Bush at the ceremony.

The stunning outfit was designed by up-and-coming black designer Christopher John Rogers, who is known for his vibrant and colorful designs. It was a major moment for America's first Black and South Asian vice president to put his designs on display on the historic day.

Kamala completed her look with a string of her signature pearls, and classic Manolo Blahnik 'BB' pumps. We’ll have to wait and see if her grand nieces manage to find a kid version of the look.
