With nearly everyone opting for comfier looks during the pandemic, it seems we’re all getting a little more creative with our off-duty style, and Charlize Theron is no different.
During a trip to the Bristol Farms grocery store in Los Angeles Monday, the Oscar winner wore a pair of bright coral neon Nike trainers that we want in our closets right now. Charlize completed her athleisure ensemble with black leggings, a navy puffer coat, a blue sweatshirt, a baseball cap pulled low, and a black face mask.

But, it was her kicks - perfect for grocery shopping, working out, or running errands - that stood out the most. Neon and bright sneakers are essential pieces for athleisure spring and summer stylings, and we loved Charlize’s so much that we tracked down a similar pair.

The Mad Max: Fury Road star has kept a relatively low profile in recent months, but last summer she revealed what parenting has been like during the pandemic.
In an interview with Today, she said: “We are really fortunate that we haven’t been directly affected by [coronavirus], so I’m super grateful for that,” the mom of two said last July, adding with a laugh, “outside of that, we are, you know, a little stir crazy. I don’t wear pants anymore.”

Charlize added that they were doing a lot of swimming, playing hide and seek, and cooking while they were under lockdown, but when it came to academics, she quickly learned that it wasn’t her strong suit.

“It turns out [that] I am not a very good math teacher, as Jackson very politely put it,” Charlize said. “She feels that the problem with homeschooling lies with me apparently. So, it was really a lot of pressure.”

“I mean, I have always had so much respect for teachers. But it’s on a whole new level. For the first month — five weeks — I was completely by myself with them,” she continued. “So I had my four-year-old downstairs while I was trying to teach math to my eight-year-old upstairs. And the fact that my house didn’t burn down is a miracle.”
As for what Charlize is up to now, she will appear in F9 (Fast & The Furious 9), which is expected to come out later this year, and will also be the voice of Mortician Addams in The Addams Family 2.
