Katie Holmes just might be the queen of understated off-duty NYC style. Her ensembles always come off as effortless, but make a style statement at the same time. The Coda star proved just that again when she stepped out in New York City wearing the chunky shoe trend of the season: elevated loafers.

The actress paired her chunky black loafers with a black Mango quilted parka (that we also loved), cropped jeans, and a white face covering. She walked arm-in-arm with boyfriend Emilio Vitolo Jr as she made her way down a sidewalk, and their looks happened to coordinate. Emilio opted for a gray zip-up sweater with black jeans and black lace-up shoes for their night on the town.
The chunky flat shoe is one of the biggest trends of the season - and Katie’s outerwear is a major staple piece. We loved both so much that we tracked down a similar pair of kicks for less than $50, and the thesp’s Mango coat. It happens to be on sale for $90.

Katie also wore the trendy loafers as she hit the Big Apple with Emilio again Monday, with both rocking coats we want in our closets. This time, she paired her shoes with a Khaite mustard checked duster coat complete with a belt that wrapped at the waist. The coat style is so popular that it has already sold out.
The Dawson’s Creek alum recently showed off one of her paintings that was inspired by her walks around NYC. Katie, who wrote on Instagram that she’s been painting for the last 10 years “and definitely more during covid,” shared a stunning painting she created called ‘Conversations 2020’ on Instagram Monday.
She captioned it, “One of my favorite things to do in New York is walking in Central Park with people I love. I always discover parts of the park I haven’t seen before in tandem with learning new things about my loved ones."
"This piece is inspired by those walks and the gratitude I feel for the people and the beautiful park.” Katie added that she created the painting with dye and acrylic, and painted it on a canvas.
