Understandably, the stars of the film Jenna Ortega, Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara and Monica Belucci were dressed to impress, but the event also attracted some of Hollywood's biggest stars, including Cate Blanchett who looked simply sensational.
However, it wasn't the only celebration in town, as the event opened with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement, which went to Alien star Sigourney Weaver.
See the best-dressed from the first day of the Venice Film Festival below…
1/11
Cate Blanchett
Cate Blanchett was channeling her inner sci-fi star as she arrived at the annual festival in a golden Armani gown.
She paired the look with Louis Vuitton jewelery, including a necklace she first wore in May at the Cannes Film Festival. The diamonds and pearls had already been repurposed, according to Cate's stylist, from necklaces worn to BAFTA in 2023 and 2024.
2/11
Winona Ryder
Winona Ryder certainly got the Gothic memo when it came to her hit film. Reprising her role from the original Beetlejuice, Winona was a vision in a black Chanel tuxedo gown with beautiful tulle skirt and ruffle blouse.
3/11
Sigourney Weaver
Sigourney Weaver looked beautiful in custom Chanel as she collected her Golden Lion Award.
The Alien star styled out a garment fit for a sci-fi film with a shimmering off-the-shoulder black jacket embroidered with black sequins and tulle, and adorned with jewel-encrusted buttons, paired with a black velvet mermaid skirt, the look was inspired by Chanel’s Fall 2019 Haute Couture collection.
4/11
Jenna Ortega
Jenna Ortega plays Winona's on-screen daughter in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, and appeared to have taken inspiration from the fictional Lydia Deetz's red tiered wedding dress.
Although a touch more on the daring side with cut-out sections, Jenna looked red-hot in the custom red Christian Dior design with a crop top and tulle skirt.
5/11
Catherine O'Hara
Also reprising her role from the original film is Catherine O'Hara, who wore a floral embellished custom Oscar de la Renta dress
6/11
Michael Keaton
Michael Keaton is back as Beetlejuice, and the actor decided to rock a suave suit as he attended the premiere.
7/11
Monica Bellucci
Monica Bellucci looked classic and chic in her custom Vivienne Westwood gown with oversized puff sleeves and a corset.
The Italian star accessorized with, of course, a pair of dark sunglasses.
8/11
Taylor Russell
Taylor Russell is a jury member at this year's festival, and commanded attention in a vintage 1993 Chanel design with a sheer corset embellished with crystals, and silk skirt with a long white train with a puffy lace bubble skirt overlay.
The dress was originally worn on the runway by Claudia Schiffer.
9/11
Amy Jackson
Fresh off her wedding to Ed Westwick, Amy Jackson looked absolutely magical in a risqué sheer gown with a spiderweb-style pattern.
10/11
Isabelle Huppert, President of the Venice Film Jury, was the lady in red on night one, as she wore an oversized Balenciaga Couture cape gown. With a boatneck style at the front, the dress featured large bow detailing on the back.
11/11
Poppy Delevingne
British star Poppy Delevingne kept it simple at the premiere with a black silk suit, with wide leg pants and a double-breasted blazer that was left unbuttoned to show off some skin.
