Audrey Hepburn fans, brace yourselves – a brand new exhibition of rarely-seen images of the Hollywood icon is coming to London, and it looks amazing. Proud Galleries will host Audrey Hepburn: Beyond the Screen to tie in with the 25th anniversary of the star's death, and the show will feature intimate portraits by celebrated photographers including Terry O'Neil, Norman Parkinson, Bob Willoughby, Eva Sereny, Mark Shaw and Douglas Kirkland. The captivating and varied photographs show different aspects of the star's personality, and celebrate her enduring legacy. The exhibition will run from August 17 to September 30.

Born in Belgium, at the age of eight Audrey Hepburn and her mother settled in Kent, England. By 1945 Audrey was a trained ballerina, and later met Marie Rambert, moving back to London to train under the teacher. She modelled part time to support herself and soon became a London chorus girl.

It was here that Audrey was spotted by a casting director and began to appear in minor roles. In 1953 she finally took on her leading role in Roman Holiday and won her first Academy, BAFTA and Golden Globe awards for Best Actress.

In 1960 Audrey took on one of cinema's most iconic characters – Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Then in 1964 she went on to win critical and box office acclaim in My Fair Lady.

A goodwill ambassador with UNICEF, Audrey in her later life focused on family and charity work, dedicating herself to helping children in poorer nations.

As one of Hollywood's leading style icon's, Audrey had a longstanding relationship with Parisian fashion house Givenchy, and is still inspiring stars today. Meghan Markle, who also has a close relationship with the couture house after its artistic director designed her stunning wedding dress, is often spotted wearing styles reminiscent of Audrey.
