Summer fashion usually involves showing a little more skin than normal - whether it's wearing a strappy cami top or a midi dress with bare legs - but online retailer PrettyLittleThing has certainly pushed the boundaries with its incredibly revealing thong shorts, or 'mid wash denim knicker' as they're called on the site. The teeny-tiny hot pants, which can be found in the 'new in' section of the brand's website alongside a very colourful festival collection, has the internet collectively asking: "huh?!"

The website states: "Dare to wear these fierce denim knickers girl. Featuring a denim material in a seriously flattering high rise style. Team these with some killer chap trousers and matching bralet for a show-stopping festival outfit that is gonna get you noticed for all of the right reasons."

The tiny hotpants have sent the internet into a spin

We'll hand it to them - if there's any time to go all-out, it's at a festival. In fact, the revealing shorts seem to have sold out already, since every size is now out of stock. Shoppers are split on the statement style, with one taking to Twitter to write, "I mean I do love Pretty Little Thing, but WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY?" While another posted: "the more I see those denim thong shorts & everyone slating them, the more I like them… in the basket they go!"

They come as part of the brand's festival collection

The attention-grabbing high-rise thong is just £15 and has been styled on the site with cow-print chaps and a matching bikini top, while the rest of the festival collection features sequinned rainbow co-ords, tie-dye flares and white feather hot pants - so there's something for everyone looking to make a statement. Would you dare?!
