The noughties were a wild decade saturated with the most marmite trends to ever exist. While the era is not closely associated with royal style, one royal family member was an avid supporter of the Y2K movement – any guesses?
That's right, Zara Tindall was the go-to girl for 00s outfits back in the day. We plucked one of her most daring looks to date from her eclectic clothing archive, which took the form of a semi-sheer halterneck dress no other royal is yet to brave.
The bold number featured panels of nude and blossom pink mesh crafted into a beachy halter neck silhouette, a summer-ready plunging neckline, and flared skirt with pleats, a nipped-in waistline and a backless structure.
Zara wore the frock alongside husband-to-be Mike Tindall as the pair attended 'La Dolce Vita' charity dinner and concert as part of the Grand Prix Weekend in 2004. She paired the feminine garment with some barely-there beige sandals, allowing her out-there attire to take centre stage.
The royal wore her blonde hair tied up into a beehive bun which became increasingly unruly as she let her hair down while partying the night away.
Mike looked smart beside her wife-to-be, sporting a traditional navy suit and a pink shirt. As we all know, real men wear pink.
The two embraced for a series of photographs, some of which Zara can be seen wrapping up in a gold shrug crafted from metallic fabric. The very same year the images were snapped, Zara and Mike made it official and wed later in 2011.
2004 proved to be one of Zara's most fashionable years. In another unearthed photo, the equestrian was spotted leaving St Mary Magdalene Church on the Sandringham Estate, rocking a truly unexpected look for the occasion.

A then-23-year-old Zara decided to shake up royal tradition for her festive family celebrations. The royal sported a pair of caramel-coloured suede knee-high boots with a fleece trim and ribbons, which she teamed with a suede overcoat boasting a classic collar, a chocolate hue, a belted waistline and a knee-skimming length.
