The Princess of Wales has long been the pinnacle of royal style perfection. Impeccably dressed, with an archive of perfectly tailored pieces and timeless garments, Princess Kate has mastered the ultimate balance between sartorial queen and follower of royal etiquette. But did you know her sister Pippa Middleton is equally a trendsetter?

The Middleton sisters have shared everything from a flat together, to their wedding days, to their passion for athletics, so it only makes sense that Pippa and Kate also occasionally share a wardrobe.

Though Pippa's style tends to be far more relaxed than her royal sister's, there have been several occasions where the sisterly duo have stepped out in outfits so similar we've done a double take.

From twinning engagement dresses to matching headbands and coordinated winter coats, we've compiled all the times Pippa and Princess Kate have been royal style twins…

Princess Kate's navy dress worn to announce her engagement to Prince William remains one of her most iconic style moments in the royal spotlight. Yet Kate's now-famous Issa silk wrap dress was actually worn by Pippa first.

Pippa appeared to wear a red version of the silk wrap dress to a book launch in 2007. If not the same designer, there's no denying Kate took style notes from her younger sister when she chose her flattering frock for her post-proposal interview.

The pregnant sisters took maternity style notes from each other

Whilst pregnant with Prince Louis, the Princess of Wales looked radiant rocking one of her favourite designers, Catherine Walker.

Pippa clearly took inspiration from her sister for her own maternity style, stepping out in the same year in a near-identical emerald dress during her pregnancy with her son Arthur.

Sister, sister! The Princess of Wales chose her sister Pippa to be by her side on the most historic day of her royal career - her wedding day. The lookalike sisters looked angelic in bridal white on the big day, both wearing custom designs by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.

Either the sisters have style telepathy, or this is proof they really do share clothes. Back in 2018, Princess Kate stepped out for a royal engagement wearing a flattering maroon dress from Whistles, adorned with white polkadots and pearlescent buttons. Sure enough, Pippa stepped out wearing the exact same dress just a week later. What a pair!

Embroidered white dresses are firmly on the agenda for the stylish sisters

Pippa looked perfect in a pretty Anna Mason embroidered dress at Wimbledon in 2018, pairing her look with wedge espadrilles from Penelope Chilvers, and a panama hat by royal milliner Jess Collett.

Her royal sister is also a fan of broderie anglaise, rocking a near-identical fitted frock from Zimmerman during her Australian tour.
