The Duchess of Edinburgh recycled some of her most-flattering workwear to attend an engagement at Salesian Cullum Centre Surrey on Tuesday.

Sophie, formerly the Countess of Wessex, dressed for the spring sunshine in a perfectly coordinated palette of pastels. Looking immaculate as ever, the Duchess slipped into a tweed two-piece from celebrity designer Victoria Beckham, layering with a fitted 'Camel Wool Blazer' from Max Mara.

The wife of Prince Edward's draped skirt featured an asymmetrical hem and flattering high waistline, while the matching tweed blouse in a blend of tangerine and white wool was the perfect tone to highlight Sophie's ageless complexion.

Queen of tailored blazers, the royal's Max Mara number has long been a staple in her enviable wardrobe. Sophie paired her smart ensemble with nude heels and delicate floral stud earrings.

The mother-of-two wore her golden blonde hair in an elegant half-up, half-down style, adding a rosy blush and lashing of mascara to complement her radiant beauty glow.

"Great look Sophie, the soft colours suit her very well," commented a royal fashion fan on Instagram, as another echoed: "The Duchess of Edinburgh is such a chic woman."

Another royal fashion fan shared a notable quality of Sophie's outfit which was a fitting element considering her visit involved meeting autistic students. "Very pretty and softly feminine, like so many of Sophie's outfits are," they penned in a thread on @royalfashionpolice's Instagram account.

"But more than that, as an autistic person myself, this outfit looks very quiet. Some clothes/fabrics make noise. Obviously corduroy is a good example, but things like satin and leather can make noise that's actually really distracting and uncomfortable sensorially. The Duchess of Edinburgh has chosen a quiet outfit that will be more comfortable for those around her. She's a lovely, thoughtful patron for the @nationalautisticsociety."

The royal family's official Twitter wrote of Sophie's engagement: "As Patron of the National Autistic Society, The Duchess of Edinburgh visited the Salesian Cullum Centre in Surrey, to learn more about their work to support autistic students and help them thrive in mainstream schools."
