The sunshine is officially out for spring and so are our favourite royal ladies. A busy royal itinerary promised fans a host of brand-new looks to visually chew on, courtesy of countesses, duchesses, princesses and even queens.

The Princess of Wales served up style supremacy in Karen Millen, while the Duchess of Edinburgh reigned victorious in the wardrobe with a helping hand from Victoria Beckham. Princess Eugenie turned out another dainty frock aesthetic that showed off her blossoming baby bump, while Queen Letizia of Spain went all out on the floral front.

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands caused spectators to do a double-take upon her latest outing where she championed affordable dressing.

The Prince and Princess of Wales arrived for official engagements in Birmingham on Thursday, with Kate choosing to dress elegantly as ever for the occasion – in a beautiful burgundy midi dress from high street favourite Karen Millen.

Kate wore her brunette hair loose and long with her signature soft curls, and teamed her look with minimal makeup as usual. Her burgundy dress features a deep-V neckline, nipped-in belted waist and a pleated skirt, which the royal teamed with matching heels. It's worth £183.20 at Karen Millen, though sadly it's sold out in the royal's shade – but it is still available to shop in black and camel tones.

It appears that Princess Kate also altered the dress for her visit, removing the gold details from the waist tie detail on the dress. She accessorised her outfit with her beautiful Sezane 'Dina' earrings, which were rumoured to be a 2022 Christmas present from husband Prince William.

The Duchess of Edinburgh

The Duchess of Edinburgh recycled some of her most-flattering workwear to attend an engagement at Salesian Cullum Centre Surrey on Tuesday. Sophie, formerly the Countess of Wessex, dressed for the spring sunshine in a perfectly coordinated palette of pastels. Looking immaculate as ever, the Duchess slipped into a tweed two-piece from celebrity designer Victoria Beckham, layering with a fitted 'Camel Wool Blazer' from Max Mara.

The wife of Prince Edward's draped skirt featured an asymmetrical hem and flattering high waistline, while the matching tweed blouse in a blend of tangerine and white wool was the perfect tone to highlight Sophie's ageless complexion.

Only a day later, the Duchess of Edinburgh paid a visit to Moor House School and College in Oxted. For the wholesome outing, the royal relied upon her trusty staple pieces for spring, turning to high street ME+EM for sartorial guidance.

Duchess Sophie stepped out in the brand’s beloved ‘Sheer Crinkle Silk-Blend Maxi Dress in Deep Cobalt Blue,’ which boasted a radiant yet electric shade, long sleeves, an ethereal silhouette, a rounded neckline, and delicate crinkle detailing.

The royal paired the striking garment with a sumptuous overcoat by MaxMara, coined by the brand as the ‘Custodi Double-Breasted Brushed Wool Coat,’ in a serene shade of sand white. The luxurious outerwear piece is one of the duchess’ go-to pieces and looked terrific when teamed with her thrown-on frock.

Princess Eugenie

Princess Eugenie stepped out for an important engagement with the Blue Marine Foundation and looked sophisticated as ever in a pretty new Whistles mini dress. The royal, who is expecting her second baby, appeared in an inspiring video on the charity's Instagram as she visited the Solent Seascape Project, which aims to reverse environmental damage to the ocean.

Her beautiful blue dress is a smock number from royal favourite British brand Whistles, named the 'Blurred Floral Trapeze Dress', which originally retailed for £139 – but is now reduced to £79 in the sale.

Spain's Queen Letizia has surprised royal fans with her latest outfit, stepping out in Córdoba in a bold floral dress with retro-inspired shoulder pads. The royal looked ready for spring in her new look, which is a little different to the more sleek, modern looks many are used to seeing her wear.

Letizia's new outfit is from affordable Spanish label Cayro Woman, costing €96.90 (or around £85). With bright florals, a nipped-in belted waist and those statement shoulders, we can see why the Queen fell in love with it.

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands surprised fans with an illusionist look

Fashion protocol is relatively strict for royals across the globe, so when a royal family member causes a stir with their outfit choice, we are the first to take note. On Thursday, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands assembled an outfit of the utmost sophistication as she paid a visit to the start of the construction of the Bloemencorso Bollenstreek. Yet fans were left bamboozled.

The Dutch monarch reigned supreme in the style department as she stepped out in a luxurious black cape by Natan Couture, one of her go-to brands for lavish pieces, which was paired with a beige-coloured skirt by Massimo Dutti.

Her wool midi skirt featured decorative pockets and a modest frontal split, yet it seemed to be the source of much confusion for royal fashion followers. Boasting a low-key camel hue, the piece seemingly blended with the royal’s skin tone, creating an illusion-like effect that resembled a mini skirt silhouette.
