Fresh from the success of the big screen blockbuster Charlie’s Angels,Ally McBeal stunner Lucy Liu is said to be leaving the Emmy award-winning show. The 33-year-old star and Blockbuster Award winner hopes to cash in on her newfound clout on the silver screen where she can pocket more money.

“She’s made it clear to the studio that she wants out as soon as possible,” one insider said. “Lucy was in a hugely successful film… and wants her career to move forward in that direction. She knows she can earn double the salary she currently gets from Ally McBeal working in the movie industry. New scripts now land on her doorstep every day.”

Lucy, an Emmy nominee for her role as acerbic lawyer Ling Woo, isn’t the only star jumping ship. Greg Germann, who plays lovable chauvinist Richard Fish, has yet to renew for the upcoming season; likewise guest star Taye Diggs of How Stella Got Her Groove Back fame. Taye says he’s likely to leave the David E Kelley production “no matter what money is on the table”.

A spokesman for the show confirms the three stars have yet to sign contracts, saying only there are “uncomfortable difficulties” regarding their renewal. “The current storylines will all be played out – after that, we’ll just have to wait and see.”
