Tom Cruise has filed a $100 million defamation lawsuit against a gay porn actor who claims he had an affair with the Mission Impossible star.
The complaint, filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court, claims Chad Slater “concocted and spread the completely false story that he had a continuing homosexual affair with Tom Cruise and that this affair was discovered by Mr Cruise’s wife, leading to their divorce.”
Slater, aka Kyle Bradford, told magazine Actustar that he and Cruise have been involved in an ongoing affair. Slater, whose signature move involves climbing into a ring for his torrid encounters, reportedly received a call from one Tom Finigham while in Paris. Finigham suggested the two meet, “specifically in a ring”, the magazine reports. When Finigham arrived, Slater “realized much to his surprise that Finigham was Tom Cruise.” The two allegedly became friends and then lovers.
“It is absolutely 100 percent false,” says Bert Fields, attorney for the The Firm star. “Cruise is a great respecter of homosexual rights, but he’s not gay, and he’s ready to prove this in court. Tom is tired of it and it hurts his children. It’s something that will be there forever. And damn it, he’s going to stop it.”
On his website, www.kylebradford.com, the 'erotic wrestler' has issued the following statement: "I have never been to France, I have never spoken with "Actustar Magazine", and have never said any of the statements allegedly said by me. The things being reported internationally are totally untrue and very hurtful to all parties."
Cruise has a history of court battles over similar rumours. Tom and Nicole successfully sued US supermarket tabloid The Star in 1999 after it published a story claiming the couple needed a sex coach for their work in the controversial thriller Eyes Wide Shut.
