Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez has landed the sexiest woman in the world title for the second time. The international poll, run by men’s magazine FHM, usually reflects the vagaries of male taste by changing annually, and this is the first time voters have stayed faithful for two years running. J Lo beat beauties including the UK’s Kelly Brook, Catherine Zeta-Jones and singer Louise Redknapp to the top slot.

“It was an honour the first time, never mind two years in a row,” says Jennifer. “I’m so flattered I’m going to try for a treble. It was a wonderful feeling because I’m not the typical, tall thin Hollywood body type.”

“Any women who say they don’t like being called sexy are lying,” she added. “It’s the most flattering thing in the world.”

British singer Rachel Stevens of S Club 7 was hot on the American star’s tail, storming up the ranking from last year’s number 18 position to grab the “second sexiest” spot. The magazine’s readers placed Catherine Zeta-Jones at number 13, and former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell at 28. Geri’s former bandmate, Emma Bunton, was the only member of the pop outfit to make it into the top 100 – she came in at 71 – while Liz Hurley only managed to secured a lowly 83.

They may not have topped the FHM listing, but Catherine and Liz led the field for sartorial style in another poll by women’s magazine Prima, which named Catherine best-dressed woman and Liz the runner-up.

Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham’s figure-hugging frocks and collection of basque tops resulted in the Spice Girl landing the worst-dressed celebrity title.
