Arnold Schwarzenegger, accompanied by his wife Maria Shriver, took home a Taurus Honorary Award on Sunday night when the stunt community gathered for the first ever World Stunt Awards. Alec Baldwin hosted the all-star event which paid tribute to those doing the best in action film work, including “master action stylist” John Woo of Face Off fame who received the Action Movie Director prize.

Walker, Texas Ranger’s Chuck Norris and Titanic director James Cameron were among the celebrity presenters at the ceremony, held at Los Angeles’ Barker Hanger venue.

Honourees competed in 11 categories, including best work with an animal and best fire work. The two-hour event airs on June 16 on US network ABC, and producers are staying mum on the winners.

Proceeds from the awards programme go to the newly-formed Taurus World Stunt Awards Foundation, dedicated to supporting stunt performers in need.
