She may be the Queen of Hollywood, but Julia Roberts is showing that she can rough it like the rest of us. While most of her peers will be jetting off to foreign shores for their holidays, it looks like the Oscar-winning actress will be getting her kicks on Route 66 – and other US highways.
According to some reports, the Erin Brockovich star is hitting the road in a camper van, equipped with spa bath and sun deck. Sharing driving and navigating duties is Julia’s boyfriend of several years, Law And Order actor Benjamin Bratt.
While she and Benjamin are on the road, Julia’s new movie, America’s Sweethearts, will be seeing the light of day. Released in the States on July 20, it is the story of how the most popular couple in Tinseltown, played by Catherine Zeta Jones and John Cusack, break up during filming of their latest blockbuster.
Julia plays Kiki, the movie’s long-suffering PR, who is brought in to minimize the inevitable media fall-out. Her co-star, Billy Crystal, revealed in a magazine interview that Julia wears a “fat suit” in some scenes, having been unwilling to do a Renee Zellweger and put on weight for the role. The comedian, who also wrote the movie, jokes that his co-star had “two chins, big boobs, and Ed Asner’s ass.”
