James Bond star Pierce Brosnan and his fiancée Keely Shaye Smith will walk down the aisle on August 4 in his native Ireland on the grounds of beautiful Ashford Castle. The two were set to wed last year, but canceled the nuptials when Pierce’s then 16-year-old son Sean was involved in a near-fatal car accident. But now that his son can dance at the wedding, the plans are well under way for what promises to be the celebrity wedding of the year.
The pair are set to marry at one of the world’s most luxurious hotels and biggest castles in all of Ireland. The medieval estate, which features horseback riding, a golf course, fishing and clay pigeon shooting is situated on the shore of Lough Corrib in the village of Cong, just north of Galway.
“God willing, I’ll take my girl home to Ireland,” says Pierce. “I want us to have a lovely, romantic, great ol’ shindig. It will be a great celebration of two people who still dream together.”
The couple met seven years ago at a fundraiser for the American Oceans Campaign. They have two children together, Dylan Thomas Brosnan, four, and baby Paris Beckett Brosnan.
