HOLLYWOOD BEAUTY ANDIE MACDOWELL TO WED CHILDHOOD FRIEND

Four Weddings And A Funeral star Andie MacDowell is engaged to childhood friend Rhett Du Camp Hartzog, a jewellery businessman from her hometown of Gaffney, South Carolina. The two were classmates in the mid-1970s at Gaffney High School.

“I am very happy for her,” says Andie’s proud father Marion MacDowell. “I know they have given it a lot of thought. He is a friend she has known a long time. They’ve known each other since grammar school and through high school.”

The 43-year-old beauty was said to have comforted Dennis Quaid in the wake of his painful break-up with wife Meg Ryan. However, it now seems reports of a romance between Andie and the Wyatt Earp star were exaggerated.

Andie and Rhett will wed in Asheville, North Carolina, in November, and likely settle nearby where the actress and her three children already live. This will be the L’Oreal spokesmodel’s second marriage. She split up with her first husband, Paul Qualley, in 1999.

The Groundhog Day star’s latest feature film, Crush, hits UK cinemas on August 24. Stateside, she’ll next appear on the small screen in the HBO movie Dinner With Friends, co-starring Greg Kinnear, Dennis Quaid and Toni Collette, premiering August 11.
