Thelma And Louise star Geena Davis has walked down the aisle for the fourth time. The 44-year-old actress tied the knot with her boyfriend of two years, neurosurgeon Reza Jarrahy, 30, at a small private ceremony in the Long Island town of Wainscott in New York state.
“We are very happy and we look forward to spending the rest of our lives together,” said the couple in a joint statement. Following a honeymoon at an undisclosed destination, the newlyweds will settle in LA.
It may not be long before their home echoes with patter of tiny feet, too, as before her engagement Geena had said “it would be nice” to have kids of her own.
The former Victoria's Secret model was introduced to Reza by mutual friends two years ago and the pair got engaged last November. It is his first marriage and the fourth for Massachusetts-born Geena. She was formerly married to restaurant manager Richard Emmolo, The Fly co-star Jeff Goldblum and Finnish director Renny Harlin.
Statuesque Geena – she is 6ft 2in tall – made headlines when she gave up movie-making in 1999 to try and make it into the US Olympic archery team. She made it as far as the semi-finals, but failed to land herself a place at Sydney in 2000.
While she picked up a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in 1988’s The Accidental Tourist and earned a second Academy Award nomination opposite Susan Sarandon in Thelma And Louise, her return to TV last autumn was less successful. The Geena Davis Show failed to make the ratings and was axed after just one season.
She will next be seen on the big screen in the sequel to Stuart Little.
