A mother-of-three who collapsed at the Toronto International Film Festival last week had a pleasant surprise when she came round to find herself in the arms of Hollywood hunk Matthew McConaughey.
“I felt a man stroking my hair and kissing my forehead saying, ‘It’s OK, sweetheart’, and I realised it wasn’t my husband,” says Janice Flisfeder. “When I opened my eyes and looked back to him I just thought, ‘Nah can’t be’.” But it was.
The 31-year-old star rushed to the side of Janice, 49, when she was taken ill at a screening of his upcoming drama 13 Conversations About One Thing.
“Matthew was the first to the scene,” reports the film’s director, Jill Sprecher. “It was like a movie. He is a heroic guy – a very kind person who is always considerate.”
The Texas native, who plays a lawyer in the eagerly-anticipated film, downplayed his role in the incident, saying simply: “A woman had a seizure.” But his co-stars used the opportunity to lampoon Matthew’s heart-throb status.
“And you gave her mouth-to-mouth,” joked actress Amy Irving.
“Which we found afterwards was why she had the seizure,” added star Alan Arkin.
Janice, who attributed her collapse to not having eaten enough, was taken to a nearby hospital and seemed “absolutely fine” according to one doctor.
