As the convolutions of Julia Roberts’ love life increasingly resemble those of a soap opera-plot, a new series of photographs have emerged of the romantically challenged actress and her new love, American cameraman Danny Moder. The two were snapped enjoying time out with Danny’s father, TV cameraman Mike Moder, on a lake near the family’s home in Ontario, California.
The Erin Brockovich star had flown into town to be with her new beau and express her condolences to his father who lost his wife, Patricia, recently. The visit seems to have gone swimmingly, despite rumours that the news of her married son’s dalliance – Danny is estranged from his wife Vera – was a contributory factor in Patricia's death from a heart attack. At the time a source said: “Danny is distraught over his mother’s death. He cannot help thinking that the fuss over his affair with Julia may have contributed to this. He is inconsolable.” The Pretty Woman star looks to be doing her best to console her new man, however.
When he picked her up from the local airport, the two hugged and kissed before Danny led her to his awaiting four-wheel drive, resting a proprietorial hand on her hip as he did so. The two later spent some time on nearby Lake Arrowhead, heading off for a swim in a speed boat with Danny’s dad. Julia, 33, who was reportedly dumped by her boyfriend of four years, Benjamin Bratt, after she refused his proposal of marriage recently, has had a chequered love life.
Divorced in 1995 from her husband of two years, musician Lyle Lovett, she went on to have a notorious liaison with Kiefer Sutherland who she ditched on the eve of their wedding for his friend Jason Patric – another romance destined to bite the dust. Her latest boyfriend, Danny, left his 28-year-old wife for Julia after the actress helped him get a job on the movie Grand Champion. The pair also worked together on Brad Pitt-vehicle The Mexican.
