JENNIFER LOPEZ TO MAKE $12 MILLION STARRING WITH BEN AFFLECK IN 'GIGLI'

Wow! As Jennifer Lopez’s profile rises, so does her salary. The actress and singer has just signed a deal to star as a free-spirited gunslinger opposite Ben Affleck in the movie Gigli for $12 million. And if that’s not enough, Jennifer’s agent has negotiated her a high single-digit percentage of the profits, known in Hollywood as “backend”, which could net her another seven-figure sum.

The 31-year-old, who the readers of a British magazine have just voted as having the best female celebrity body, is now one of the highest-paid actresses around. It is well-documented that Julia Roberts earns around $20 million a picture, and close behind her are Cameron Diaz and Meg Ryan, who pocket around $15 million. Bronx-born Jennifer’s famous ambition seems to have stood her in good stead.

Jennifer, who split up with rapper Puff Daddy just nine months ago, on Valentine’s Day, earned $9 million each for her last two flicks, Angel Eyes and The Wedding Planner. This, however, is the first time she has been given a share of the profits as well as an eight-figure advance fee. And it’s not as if the work is drying up, either…Although it was thought that the Jennifer was going to have a well-earned break that would leave her free to enjoy her recent marriage to Cris Judd, the actress has signed up to make three films on the trot – something that may not please her new husband.

The artiste also known as JLo already has Enough, a Michael Apted-directed thriller, in the can. Once Gigli is a wrap, Jennifer will be learning her lines for romantic comedy The Chambermaid, and following that, will be on the set of Tick Tock.

Just weeks before her September wedding, the Latin beauty was snapped dissolving in tears, widely believed to be due to high stress levels. Cris was thought to have told her to take life a bit easier, and his recent promotion to be her director of choreography was done in the hope that she would learn to delegate a little more.
